Patient Advocacy/Empowerment

More than two-thirds of all new cancers are diagnosed among adults aged 60 years and older, and the number of seniors living in the United States continues to rise.

The National Cancer Institute estimates more than 20,000 people will be diagnosed and over 163,000 people will be living with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) in the United States in 2019.

Breast cancer is a highly emotional diagnosis; patient experience should be monitored to limit emotional distress.
