To honor these values, we partner with artists touched by cancer to tell their story and showcase their works of art.
As a cancer survivor, Yuria navigated the profound uncertainty of chemotherapy by turning to her artistic practices as a lifeline.
“Facing mortality daily, I found that the act of drawing and painting triggered a vital, grounding joy that calmed the chaos of illness,” Yuria says. “This experience birthed my research into the Japanese concept of Ma, the ‘pure interval’ of space and time.”
According to Yuria, by embracing the ephemeral nature of our existence, she developed a therapeutic framework where “non-spaces” become sites of healing. Her art serves as a testament to finding peace and presence within the transition of recovery.
