Elba L. Saavedra Ferrer, MS, PhD

Elba L. Saavedra Ferrer, MS, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Research at the University of New Mexico; Founder and Facilitator of the New Mexico Coalition to Enhance Vaccine Equity Among Hispanic/Latinx, as well as the Co-Chair and Co-Founder of the New Mexico Cancer Patient Navigation Network.

Elba has overseen a multilevel, peer-led, community-based lay navigation program for more than 15 years, entitled the Comadre a Comadre Program, serving in various roles including program director, lay navigator, and manager for oncology navigation. She has also served as a consultant for national and local oncology professional organizations promoting evidence-based practice in clinical nursing and patient navigation.
