Dear Navigators, Social Workers, Administrators, and Clinical Staff,

The Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+) Midyear Conference will be THE virtual event of 2021 for oncology nurse and patient navigators! The event will be held May 13-16 and will feature a robust agenda to enhance your professional development and help you provide better patient care.

This conference offers an excellent training opportunity and a considerable valuable return on the investment of attending. However, we understand obtaining approval to attend conferences can sometimes be a challenge. In most circumstances, the right approach can help you justify your time away from work and the registration costs.

One of the best ways to convey the value of your attendance is to connect the goals of your organization with the educational opportunities offered at the conference. Present your supervisor with a strong case for attending the 2021 AONN+ Midyear Conference by considering the following tips for attendance approval:

  • Analyze the conference agenda to see how it can address your cancer program’s current needs and plans for growth
  • Ask your supervisor to recommend sessions that would be beneficial for you to attend
  • Present a cost estimate of your attendance/registration fee
  • Plan for coverage at work during your absence
  • If you have attended an AONN+ conference in the past, explain to your supervisor how the education and professional development benefited you, your organization, and your patients

Your attendance at the virtual conference gives you the opportunity to network with more than 1000 oncology navigators and cancer care professionals from across the United States and around the globe. You will be able to apply the knowledge gained and share it with your colleagues to benefit your organization as a whole.

I’m looking forward to “seeing” you there!

Sincerely,

Lillie Digital Signature
